Dr. Tapas Raychaudhury is a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon with over 40 years of experience to his credit. A meritorious scholar, Dr. Raychaudhury has completed his FRCS from England and Edinburgh.
He is the first heart surgeon in Kolkata to perform the first 75 consecutive multi-vessel Bypass surgery between 1984 and 1986. In February 1996, he performed the first Beating Heart Bypass Surgery (MIDCAB) of Kolkata through a small 4 inch cut in the left side of the chest.
He leads the team in Fortis which did the first Heart Transplantation in Eastern India.
He is an active crusader for the cause of Organ Donation in the state. He has been actively participating in promoting Organ Donation across hospitals. The renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeon has also received state honour for his contribution to the healthcare industry.
