Dr. Ranjan Choudhury

Dr. Ranjan Choudhury is a highly acclaimed Consultant Eye Surgeon based in Kolkata, West Bengal specialising in all types of Microsurgery and Vitreo-Retinal Surgery. He completed his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College under University of Calcutta in 1984, DO from University of Calcutta in 1989 and further accomplished MFCO from Federation of Ophthalmic Research and Education Centres in 1989.Dr. Choudhury currently holds the position of Director in Farsight Eye. Research Centre. He is attached to various hospitals in Kolkata like Shraddha Eye Care, AMRI, Vision Care Hospital, Netra Niketan, Mercy Hospital and Mahaprabhu Eye Centre as Consultant Ophthalmologist and Consultant Eye Surgeon. The primary aim is to provide latest eye care technology of affordable cost for everyone. Previously he has held various positions like Honorary Joint Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Joint Treasurer, Honorary Secretary, Organising Secretary in various Annual Conferences, Alumni and Re-Union Meets and Conferences. He regularly visits national as well as international conferences to keep his knowledge updated and to share his expertise. He is often invited as Guest Speaker, Lecturer, Editor, Guest Faculty, Convenor and Judge in various Retina sessions and programmes relating to Ophthalmology.Dr. Choudhury has keen interest in Community Service. He has been associated with Greater Calcutta Leprosy Treatment Education Scheme, Kolkata and Matri-Sangha Jana Kalyan Ashram, an NGO in Kolkata since 1988. He has attended 114 Eye Camps in and around Kolkata and operated on 2919 persons in rural eye camps.
